Batch No.25 is our take on the classic Balmacaan overcoat. This version is made from a custom dark brown Glen Check tweed, developed with Magee in Donegal. The warm deep brown base has a subtle black Glen check and tobacco neps woven throughout, giving the cloth its irregular texture and character that Donegal wool is known for.

The substantial 16oz cloth hangs beautifully, giving the coat structure, while still feeling relaxed and easy to wear. Of the three Batch No.25 fabrics, this is definitely the most characterful cloth. We hope it’ll become one of those coats you look forward to wearing every winter.

A relaxed fitting overcoat allowing for layering underneath. The length is designed to finish at the middle of the calf, and the sleeves end neatly at the wrist bone.

Our model, Sal, is 5 foot 9 / 175.25cm, Size UK 8 and wears a size S for a looser cut. Sal wears the coats in our studio with the plain background.


Our model, Freya, is 5 foot 6 / UK size 10-12 and wears size S for a neater cut. Freya wears the coats outside around London.

A substantial 16oz dark brown Glen Check tweed, custom developed with Magee in Donegal, Ireland and made from 100% wool.

We spent months going back and forth on this cloth, trying different yarns, adjusting the scale of the check and getting the weight just right. We also wanted to make sure it had the irregular neppy character that Donegal wool is known for.

The finished fabric has a warm, deep brown base with a subtle black Glen Check running through it, punctuated by tiny tobacco neps that give the cloth its rich texture and depth.

Magee have been part of the Donegal textile industry for more than 150 years and remain a fifth-generation family business. They are one of Ireland’s longest running woollen mills and their fabrics have a real sense of place, drawing on the colours, textures and weaving traditions of northwest Ireland.

At 16oz, the cloth has enough weight to hang beautifully, while still feeling relaxed and easy to wear.

Fully lined with 100% viscose.

Dry clean only. Iron on a cool setting, or for best results, use a steamer to remove creases.

Each coat will be made to order in Portugal by a small family-run factory. As always, you’ll receive video updates with behind-the-scenes footage of your coat being made before it ships in December.

US orders will be shipped from within the US, and EU orders from within the EU. All other orders will be shipped from the UK.

Returns and exchanges are accepted within 28 days of delivery.

You can split your payment into two, paying 50% now to guarantee yourself a jacket, and 50% (plus shipping) one month later. If you’d like to purchase a jacket with a split payment, please select ‘Pay 50/50’ before adding your coat to your basket.

The second payment will be automatically taken on the 1st of November. Please note: If the second payment is not made, your jacket will not be shipped and your first payment will be refunded.
