THE PAYNTER CHORE JACKET
When it comes to iconic workwear staples, few jackets provide the timeless, functional and handsome style of the trusty chore jacket. Much like blue jeans, this hardy piece of outerwear has evolved over the past century from a practical uniform worn by labourers to become an everyday staple for men and women around the world. The chore jacket certainly isn’t tied to a particular time of year either - one of the best things about it is its trans-seasonal style. TISSÉ EN FRANCE
Tucked away in a picturesque valley in the French countryside is a fabric mill who have been transforming cotton into fine fabrics for nearly two hundred years. We have been lucky to work with them over the last five to produce hardwearing moleskins and uber soft corduroys. And now they’ve woven an elegant lightweight combed cotton twill for our Five Year Chore Jacket. At 9.26oz, it’s the perfect weight to wear all year long, so soft that it feels familiar from the first wear but it’s construction makes it hardwearing so that it will be your companion for years to come.
MADE IN PORTUGAL
Our jackets are sewn in Guimarães in Northern Portugal, a small maker town with a big reputation for producing some of the highest quality garments in Europe. The handful of factories that we have worked with since the very beginning have become great friends and long term partners. Here’s to many more years of making quality clothing together.
