THE JAPANESE TYPEWRITER FUN SHIRT
When we discovered our favourite Japanese Typewriter cloth had been discontinued and there wasn't enough left to make a batch, we combined the last remaining rolls of two striped designs to create our own understated version of a classic Fun Shirt. Typewriter cloth is a Japanese shirting fabric woven from fine extra-long staple cotton on traditional shuttle looms. It's tightly woven and goes through a special finishing process, giving it a soft papery handle and a slightly lived in texture. Despite it being incredibly lightweight and breathable, the name supposedly comes from the fact that it was once considered dense enough to feed through a typewriter.
THE CALIFORNIA OF EUROPE
Our shirts are hand made in a factory nestled away on a mountain side in Guimarães, Portugal. It’s a maker town. The factory is a small family run business that has been going for the last 30 years, specialising in shirts. They have a track record for supporting the underdogs. We’re proud to have our shirts made by them.
